TCEC is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization representing the commercial customers of energy in the Texas energy markets.

Purpose & Core Principles

TCEC informs, educates, and advocates for all commercial businesses regarding their common ground as electric customers in Texas. TCEC’s core principles include:  free markets; and the right for commercial customers to own their own usage data, purchase renewables, be in control of their facilities, and install devices behind their meters, for example back-up generation.

Classified as commercial customers in the electric utility markets, because of their diversity, Texas businesses have often been under-represented in advocating for fair and transparent energy markets in Texas. TCEC keeps its members informed about the Texas energy markets through providing information, advice, training, and meetings. Armed with information provided by TCEC, Members can buy and manage their company’s energy more efficiently and effectively.
